About Us
About Youth Empowerment Somalia (YES)
At Youth Empowerment Somalia (YES), we are deeply committed to addressing and responding to the complex and interrelated challenges affecting Somalia’s most vulnerable indigenous populations. These include internally displaced persons (IDPs), women, children, elderly individuals, youth groups, and persons with disabilities—particularly from indigenous minority and marginalized communities.
YES seeks durable, community-driven solutions to the ongoing humanitarian crises driven by conflict, climate change, recurrent droughts, flooding, displacement, and entrenched discrimination. Our work also focuses on tackling Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and the persistent marginalization and aid diversion that hinder equitable access to lifesaving support.
Youth Empowerment Somalia (YES) works for a Somalia where every young person—especially women, marginalized groups, and displaced communities—can learn, earn, and lead in shaping their own future.
